Today we all braved the heat and ventured out to the Farmers Market. Our family, Breann and Kennedy, Landry, Grandma Deebee and Shannon and Bobby all went and we had a lot of fun! The kids loved tasting the different fruits along the way and tried everything from cherries to watermelon. Hudson was quite fond of pineapple, we found that Jansen LOVES raspberries and I discovered that I like Mango - who knew???? Though is was sizzling hot, we had a great time!
Michael was reading Hudson a book about Trucks tonight, and they were too cute together. Words cannot express how much I love these two guys!!! Please excuse Hudson's dirty face, we had just finished dinner with ribs and baked beans!
Today Jansen was painting and came into the Living Room and asked if she could paint herself. We had just got back from the splash park and she was in her bathing suit and needed a bath, so I told her yes. Her eyes lit up like Christmas...she was so excited! So away she went and mommy even got in on the fun and painted a rainbow on her tummy. Here are some pics of our 'art work'.
We were awakened early this morning (5:30 am) by the dogs barking like crazy. We crept out of the bedroom to find our basset hound, Cooper, in the front room with something trapped in the corner and then we heard a *hissing* sound. We immediately knew what it was - a possum. We've seen this little guy around the yard some and he and our cat, Polly, have seemed to have forged some sort of bond. While we were waiting for Animal Control to come, Polly went right up to th possum and started sniffing it and the thing never hissed or even moved! Of course, every time we got within 10 feet, it showed us its fangs and hissed like crazy. Thankfully, Animal Control got here shortly after 6 am and took the possum away. Michael will be installing a new dog door this weekend!
This past weekend, we attended the wedding of a friend of Mike's family. His parents, aunt, uncle and cousins were there with their kids and we had a great time hanging out with everyone.
The wedding was lots of fun and they even had a 'kids buffet' complete with chicken fingers, corn dogs, PB&Js, and strawberry smoothies! I thought that was a great idea! We danced the night away and had a great time!
We're a goofy crew and when Jansen was younger, we'd have little dance parties with her all the time. These were soon named 'Morris Family Dance Parties' and now at any moment (in the house, in the car, outside), someone will yell 'Morris Family Dance Party!' and everyone has to stop what they're doing and start dancing ~ even Hudson gets in on the fun!
Sure it's a little silly, but that's what we're all about....having fun and dancing our way through life together!
We were married on April 26, 2003. Michael is a Psychologist and Shalon is a Compliance and Training Development Manager.
We love spending time at the lake, are reality tv junkies and are crazy about our kids!
Jansen was born on December 1, 2004. She is an incredibly fun little girl who isn't afraid to try anything. She loves soccer, tee ball, gymnastics and swimming. She also loves to sing and dance and constantly entertains us!
