Texas Snowstorm - February 12, 2010!

Dallas had some REAL snow this winter! Usually we'll get some flurries or slush, but we were lucky enough to get real live snow and LOTS of it! It snowed all day Thursday into Friday and we received about 6 inches at our house...more than enough to make a rockin' snow man!

Texas State Fair

We all headed to the annual Texas State Fair in early October and had a great time. Mom, Dad, Shan, Bob and our family stuffed ourselves with every fried item we could find, including Fried Butter - Yum!

The highlight of our visit was Jansen participating in the Pee Wee Rodeo. They have the kids dress up in chaps and cowboy hats and they even got their own rodeo number to wear on their backs. Each age group 'competes' in an event and Jansen did the "bareback riding" and took 1st place! She got a ribbon, trophy and was then named Rodeo Clown and got to dress up like a rodeo clown and put in a barrell for the "bull riders". It was the cutest thing I've ever seen!!!! And she was so proud of herself!

The Farmers Market

Today we all braved the heat and ventured out to the Farmers Market. Our family, Breann and Kennedy, Landry, Grandma Deebee and Shannon and Bobby all went and we had a lot of fun! The kids loved tasting the different fruits along the way and tried everything from cherries to watermelon. Hudson was quite fond of pineapple, we found that Jansen LOVES raspberries and I discovered that I like Mango - who knew???? Though is was sizzling hot, we had a great time!

We clean up good!

This past weekend, we attended the wedding of a friend of Mike's family. His parents, aunt, uncle and cousins were there with their kids and we had a great time hanging out with everyone.

The wedding was lots of fun and they even had a 'kids buffet' complete with chicken fingers, corn dogs, PB&Js, and strawberry smoothies! I thought that was a great idea! We danced the night away and had a great time!
